Ծնվել եմ 1958թ. Նոր Ջուղայում (Սպահան, Իրան), հաճախել հայկական դպրոց, տեղի պետական համալսարանի հայագիտության բաժին, զբաղվել ուսուցչությամբ, հասարակական-կուսակցական ակտիվ գործունեությամբ:
1986-87թթ. պարտադրված էի թողնել երկիրը եւ հաստատվել Հունաստանում: Հալածանքն իմ հանդեպ որեւէ առնչություն չուներ ներերկրային քաղաքական իրավիճակի հետ եւ պայմանավորված էր զուտ ազգային իմ հայացքներով եւ գործունեությամբ:
Հունաստանում աշխատել եմ ՀՅԴ կենտրոնական օրգան «Դրօշակ» թերթի խմբագրատանը` իբրեւ լրատվության բաժնի պատասխանատու: Եւ քանի որ այդ շրջանը համընկավ Արցախյան շարժմանը, գլխավորաբար ստանձնել եմ հայաստանյան եւ արցախյան լուրերի պատասխանատվությունը, անմիջական կապեր ունենալով Հայաստանի` այն տարիների քաղաքական դեմքերի, շարժման ղեկավարների հետ: Երեք տարի անց` 1990թ., երբ վերջապես ընտանիքս հնարավորություն ունեցավ միանալու ինձ, հաստատվեցինք Հայաստանում:
1994 դեկտեմբերին, քաղաքական պատճառներով բանտարկվել եմ ՀՀ Ազգային Անվտանգության մեկուսարանում:
1998-ի փետրվարի 9-ին ազատ եմ արձակվել եւ ստացել Հայաստանի Հանրապետության քաղաքացիություն: Ընտրվել եմ ՀՅԴ Հայաստանի Գերագույն Մարմնի անդամ:
2000 թ. փետրվարին Հայաստանում կայացած 28-րդ Ընդհանուր ժողովի կողմից ընտրվել եմ ՀՅԴ Բյուրոյի անդամ, այնուհետեւ` ՀՅԴ Բյուրոյի ներկայացուցիչ:
Նույն պաշտոնին վերընտրվել եմ 2004թ-ի փետրվարին, 2008թ-ի մայիսին, 2011թ-ի հուլիսին եւ 2015թ -ի հունվարին ՀՅԴ 29-րդ, 30-րդ, 31-րդ եւ 32-րդ Ընդհանուր Ժողովների կողմից:
